Gangnam Style hits one billion views on YouTube



Imagine on the day of December 21, 2012 at 11PM plus (east) and 11AM plus (west), the South Korean rapper PSY music video "Gangnam Style" reached a new milestone on YouTube. Hitting one billion views for the first time.

The music video "Gangnam Style" shows the enduring popularity of the self-deprecating video that features the giddy up-style dance moves.

According to YouTube, the video was uploaded since July 15 and millions of views are racking up every hour. Averaging more than 200 million views per month. It's the first time in any video clip in history has surpassed that billion mark on the streaming service owned by Google Inc.
